Unisport has provided the artificial grass for FC Nordsjaelland and The Right to Dream Park. The project started out with removing the existing artificial grass, a 4 year old artificial grass with Bio-infill, and afterwards provide and install 9.420 m2 new Saltex Drop 4009 MTRX with Green Bionic Fibre.
Quartz sand and Green Bionic Fibre was filled in with a front-mounted infill machine. It was important that we used this kind of machine, to protect the underlying heating system. The linings were not filled in – they were painted on afterwards, with a special artificial grass paint by a special laser guided pasting machine.
The whole project took about three weeks, during a break in the Superliga-season.
Recycled artificial grass for Sierra Leone
Part of the removed artificial grass, about 4.200 m2 was then packed in 9 containers and shipped to Freetown, Sierra Leone – a ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’-project, that Unisport made in collaboration with the organization FANT (Football for A New Tomorrow).
The artificial grass was laid out by Unisport from the 7th to the 14th of February with the help of 50-75 football players from FC Lion Pride, and others from the local area. The result was a super field with artificial grass, and a community that was both proud and grateful for the first artificial grass field in Sierra Leone. A field which gives hope to the young people.
